Plan and quantity changes during Google Transfer via Assisted Sales
Minor Upgrade
This feature is currently being released to sandbox marketplaces. Expected production announcement: release 758 on November 11, 2026. Dates may change based on validation results.
Google Transfer via Assisted Sales (GTA) supports changing the pricing plan and quantity of a Google Workspace subscription as part of the transfer. Previously, a transfer quote had to match the customer’s current Google product, edition, plan, and quantity, and any mismatch caused the transfer to fail.
The quote carries the target plan and quantity for each transferred subscription. Changes are applied when the transfer is finalized, and the first marketplace invoice reflects the agreed terms. Like-for-like transfers continue to work as before.
Capabilities
| Operation | Description |
|---|---|
| Plan change during transfer | Move a transferred subscription to a different pricing plan (for example, Annual to Flexible), within the billing-plan options Google allows for transferred customers. |
| Quantity change during transfer | Increase or decrease the seat count as part of the transfer, within Google’s user-license requirements. |
| Combined plan and quantity change | Apply both a plan change and a quantity change to the same subscription in a single transfer. |
| Multi-line transfers | Plan and quantity changes are supported across multiple subscriptions in the same transfer quote, including base products with add-ons. |
| Pre-submission validation | Requested changes are validated against Google’s transfer eligibility rules before the transfer is submitted. Ineligible requests are blocked with an error message. A subscription either transfers with the requested configuration or is not submitted. |
| API support | The Opportunity and Create Subscription (V1) APIs accept the same plan and quantity values, so transfers with changes, including bulk transfers, can be run without the user interface. API validation errors return the same actionable messages as the UI. |
UI updates
No new screens or controls are added. When building a Google transfer quote in Assisted Sales, quote lines can specify a plan and quantity that differ from the customer’s current Google subscription.
